According to the congressional records of 1963, here are "The Goals of Communism".
Read the list and ask yourself, "how many of these have been accommplished or are in the works?" I think you will find that this terrifying "honey-do" list is more complete then not. Wakey wakey.
A few examples:
#28. Eliminate prayer or any phase of religious expression in the schools on the ground that it violates the principle of "separation of church and state."
#32. Support any socialist movement to give centralized control over any part of the culture--education, social agencies, welfare programs, mental health clinics, etc.

Wakey wakey?
Puh-lease...
Just because we don't agree with you doesn't mean we're commies and that we aren't awake.
There are PLENTY of people who are asleep and have no idea what is going on in the world of politics on a regular basis.
Ames, you're right - - people need to WAKE UP, take a look around, and care about things in the works before they actually affect/change their lives. So many people *wait* to pay attention until their pocket/purse is affected or when their rights are trampled . . . the time to care is BEFORE that happens.
"I'm wiiiiddee awwaaaakkkkeee, I'm not sleepin'."
Love you, Ames - thanks for not being afraid to speak out on YOUR blog.
What a surprise to see you chime in when all I'm doing is expressing MY opinion and since Amy doens't disable comments on her blog I'm sure she welcomes MY opinion and not just those who agree with her.
I could be wrong, but that's what I gather.
Oh, I'm sorry, I didn't realize I was required to comment *before* you do, Lizzo, in order to have a comment that isn't just 'chiming in.'
So, you not only regularly bash your friend's blog posts, but now you bash your friend's friends' comments, too? Wow.
The only comment I made that wasn't directed TO AMY is one that's hard to dispute, whether it was directed at you or just a statement of fact, but either way, it was never rude.
Lizzo, I'm really sorry that you react the way you do when you feel defensive, but one must wonder why you continue to read a blog you don't agree with but feel free to openly criticize, and then don't like being the 'only one in the room' who thinks the way you do. You seem to hold your opinions strongly and most who do so don't end up feeling threatened by opposing viewpoints, even when they're the majority, in this instance, here.
Alas, I suppose any comment I make will continue to rattle you, and since that seems true, feel free to skip over my comments all together. After all, it's a free country. For now. :)
Whoa lovely ladies....I suddenly feel like we're on the floor of the Senate. We're really too pretty and too young for that label.
I did re-read my blog several times (b/c according to the media, I'm a conservative and apparently incompetent), and still couldn't see where I called anyone of my friends "commies". Which is good...because Liz, I know we disagree wildly, but I still love you madly (and covet your amazing wardrobe and eye for fashion). I would never call you a commie. However, I may call you a lezbo or a whore, but never EVER a communist.
Thanks JJ, for re-stating my point ever so better than I. I am your biggest fan and you know all the reasons why.
I guess I could've said "wake up sh%# heads"...but that's really not very classy.
The ole saying "ignorance is bliss" really doesn't apply when it comes to our liberties and freedom and the threat against them (from both parties). Nor does ignorance make one immune from the consequences. Right now, the issues are way too important to be asleep at the wheel...no matter what side of the aisle one stands on. And if one doesn't know where they stand, I suggest they find out. "If you don't know what you stand for, you'll fall for anything."
Its true, I welcome other's opinions even if I don't agree (though I prefer that they do it in a way that doesn't make me cry) BUT I do strongly favor those opinions that are in sync with mine. Just stating the obvious.
Ew.
One big reason I hate politics.
It must state somewhere that the outspoken are better Americans. Way to fight for your rights girls!
This sarcasm was brought to you by exercising my first Amendment rights.
Michelle...Just because you are sarcastic, doesn't mean I don't love you too.
"Kumbaya, my Lord, Kumbaya . . ."
Michelle, you are an excellent American. Sarcasm is actually the BEST use of your First Amendment Rights . . . I commend thee.
Furthermore, I disassociate myself from any influence or causation that my verification "word" is "twakeym" and I assert instead that Google is spying on our blog posts . . . there is no other logical reason that 'wake' would be in that "word." RIGHT??
We should join together and fight the real enemy . . . 'technology.'
Or, wait . . . is it 'the swine flu?' I keep forgetting.
I will continue to call my friends out when things they say insult me. I will not deny their right to say it but they can also not deny my right to fight back whether on their blog or not... and certainly this goes for women I only know in the blogosphere (although I have been told, JJ, you are a complete joy...honestly). We are obviously both strong women and that's one thing we can agree on; perhaps the only thing.
I am sorry to Amy if something I said made you cry. I would never want you to cry at something I said. Or to cry at all in general. I guess I just didn't realize republicans had souls. (I am so TOTALLY kidding here. You know I have republicans in my family. I kid, really.)
I will also call my friends out when they insult me...and Liz, I'm insulted. How dare you call me a republican! :)
And really, there were no tears, but I am afraid its possible...I'm pretty much a wuss.
HAHAHAHAH!! I love you, Ames.... that was really funny.
Ladies, I want to be fast asleep and I was really hoping Shell was bustin into some Beastie Boys for entertainment!
